A1.) A virus is a computer program that automatically copies itself thereby "infecting" other disks or programs without the user knowing it, then plays some kind of trick or disrupts the operation of the computer. Viruses are sometimes designed to change or destroy computer data. Viruses can damage data, cause computers to crash, display offending or bothersome messages, or lie dormant until such time they are set to "awaken." In the case of trojans, variants of viruses, they are designed to find their way onto a computer and cause no visible damage, but rather operate covertly in order to achieve some type of security breach. Trojans are often designed to steal passwords and other sensitive information. You can learn more by downloading PC Fixer's virus newsletter
